2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Given Honorable Mention as the Best Green Car to Buy
The hemp-clad lads around the corner at Green Car Reports have given the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Honorable Mention in the 2013 Best car to Buy Category.
This newest member of the German automaker’s respected line of fuel-friendly diesel Golf and Jetta cars, the hybrid is going small with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine producing 150 horses and one 27-horsepower, 20-kilowat electric motor that sits like a power-providing gate keeper between the seven-speed automatic transmission and the engine.
Early Jetta Hybrid reviews are finding the car to be a fun, smooth ride that is hesitant to gulp gas coming in with a rating of 42 miles per gallon in the city, 40 on the highway and 45 combined. It is the most fuel-efficient of all the Jettas and one that diesel-haters can love. In fact, industry observers believe that it will do well in the American market simply because Americans tend to prefer hybrids over diesel.
